ToughStuff Internships
We are seeking top quality people to further ToughStuff’s mission and purpose. We expect applicants to be committed and passionate about seeing social enterprises as a means to alleviating global poverty.
Interns with ToughStuff will be noticeably outstanding and will have demonstrated their abilities already. We would expect them to be exceptional people with great creativity and entrepreneurial skills, strong drive, initiative and an ability to work without close supervision. Interns would work as part of our growing UK team on projects where their contribution will be as meaningful as the effort and thought applied to the work.
Start dates for the internship are flexible. The internship can last between 2 and 3 months and will be based in our London office.
AVAILABLE POSITIONS
Researcher and Advocacy Intern
- Further articulate the philosophy and approach of the organization
-Conduct researches
- Write speeches and create presentations for the CEO
- Develop and enhance website content
- Develop articles for publication
Desired skills: Journalism / speech writing / communication / copy write
Marketing, Public Relations, Communication
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a strategic marketing and communication plan
- Assist with developing a media profile for the company
- Identify and research potential Advisory Panel members
Desired Skills: MBA / PR / communications / marketing
Human Resources
- Coordinate recruitment process for full-time staff, Fellows, Associates and Interns
- Develop and maintain relationships with key institutions providing Fellows, Associates and Interns
- Developing internal group wide HR policies
- Support HR administration and documentation processes
Desired skills: HR
Strategy and Business Development
- Conduct competitor intelligence research
- Research new markets and new products
- Develop business plans for new markets and products
- Develop social impact reporting framework
- Various research projects to support the CEO
Desired skills: MBA / Economist / Financial Analyst
Grant and Fundraising
- Identify and research potential sources of grant funding
- Support the grant application process
- Indentify and research potential investors
Desired skills: MBA / fundraising / communications / journalism
Technical
- Research potential socially valuable products appropriate to the BOP market. These would not be limited to solar products
- Work with suppliers on specific Research and Development projects
- Further develop quality assurance processes
- Provide technical support to other ToughStuff projects
Desired skills: Engineering / Technical
